Musicians and Performers who want to entertain Katrina shelters

Susan Riley, a local music-lover and musician is collecting a list of musicians who want to donate their talents to entertain the hundreds of KatrinaGuests visiting San Antonio. If you are a musician and you would like to perform for the displaced folks coming to San Antonio, please post your name to the comments section to let us know when and how you would like to participate. P.A. systems, dancers and other performers are also encouraged to post.

Coach Lowry of the Network for Young Artists (Coach rocks!) spoke to the Red Cross about performing at the shelters, and the Red Cross is enthusiastic, but hope to wait until Wednesday or so to let the dust settle.

If you know of anyone else making headway with a similar endeavor of organizing some entertainment for the shelters, let us know so we don't step on each others toes or re-invent the wheel.

Hi Debi,

Could you please advise as soon as you have information for a possible meeting ?
I'd love to help with the planning and wherever else my services are needed.

I have been speaking with musicians who will be ready almost immediately after being notified.
This includes church choirs, soloists, individuals, groups etc. Many have volunteered to bring personal care packages with them in addition to what they have alreday contributed ! They are just awaiting more details. Please keep me posted.

A local radio station has also volunteered a sound system and possibly some advertising.
I am to get back to him with more details.

Thanks Guys...
Quinn Dixon
